Everything that Glitters.....

I love the treasury feature on Etsy so much!  If you haven't checked it out before you should!!  Buyers and Sellers alike create collections of items being sold on Etsy that usually follow some theme.  And if you think the shops on Etsy are creative let me tell ya honey you ain't seen nothin yet!

Check out the treasuries here

Here's a sparkly treasury I was recently featured in....soooo pretty!

New Jewelry Items in my Shop!

These necklaces were inspired by glass marbles that I baked to give them the lovely crackled appearance.

This necklace was inspired by my own necklace I made for the wedding.  I had two of the pretty leaf brooches so I made an extra necklace for the shop.

Wedding Jewelry for my Maid of Honor

One glance at this blog and it's not hard to tell that I love making jewelry.  So it was really a no-brainer that I was going to make all the jewelry for my wedding.

That includes my bridal jewelry, my maid of honor's jewelry, and jewelry for my female helpers. (We only have one attendant apiece.)

I don't have all of my bridal jewelry photographed but here's my maid of honor's jewelry I made for the occasion.

Hair extensions?

Anybody had them? I'm thinking about getting some real hair clip ins for my wedding. Only 46 days away!

I cut my bra strap length hair to a shoulder length inverted wedge last year and the back's just not long enough for what i want. Anybody tried the clip ins? did they look real? How about with wavy hair?

I love checking items off my to do list!

Today I finally got all of my save the dates addressed and stamped! whoo hoo! About time....if I waited any longer I could just put them in the invites!! oh wait....

Aren't they cute? They were a group effort. My awesome friend Jeff took the pics in my front yard and my maid of honor Jeana and friend Brooke made the signs, and my mom photoshopped the pics. I made them on Vistaprint for about twenty bucks! I'm so proud.

TheKnot.com

Since starting to plan my own wedding the knot website has been unbelievably helpful.

Being my first wedding and all I had no clue where to begin. I honestly had no clue on how much is involved.........and don't get me started about the politics of it all!!

Seriously I thank God for this site! After entering my wedding date and location upon registration I have all of these great tools to help me plan my wedding down to the last detail. Details that I didn't even KNOW I needed to plan! Bridesmaids tea anyone?

I love signing on and seeing my "count down to the wedding" every day. And the tools are really great. It has a handy dandy budget calculator, guest list, and a notebook that you can save ideas and images to that you've found on the website!

The real weddings posted are beautiful and actually do-able. But the truly most helpful part of the site is the message boards where you can TALK ABOUT YOUR WEDDING TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT! and the girls there are actually interested! unlike your mom, sister, best friend, neighbor, co-workers, mailman, grocery clerk, etc. Happy planning!

Bridezilla?? Who me??

OMG who knew trying to plan a wedding was such hard work???

So far I've changed the date, changed the location, changed the bridal party, oh yeah and also called it off once!!
Since I've taken the handmade challenge I really want to stick with it and that includes my wedding and reception decorations.
So far here's what I've got:
Colors are plumb (of course!) and pear
Small evening ceremony and large rockin reception following!

If anyone has any awesome budget friendly wedding ideas please let me know! Weddings scheduled for November 2009. Did I mention that I have nothing booked??
